The story so far
When I first started working after my degree around 10 years ago, I knew I always wanted to work in the community. Before children, I had been working in marketing and needed a change of direction.
I started working with Age UK and loved the interaction
Since I have been qualified, I have had many opportunities to work with a wonderful array of people, offering them hints and tips that have helped them lead healthier lives.
I have directed 'Meet and Eat' sessions for over 50-year-old's, helping them become more confident in the kitchen and eat healthier meals, as well as making new friends.
I have worked with a big selection of families, in children centres and schools, developing their cooking skills and sharing practical nutrition advice.
In the last few years, I have been involved with people with learning difficulties, and I have enjoyed helping them and their carers learn about portion sizes and giving advice on healthy choices.
I created Wise About Food as a community interest company in order to offer community groups the nutritional advice and general wellbeing that has not been previously available to them.
