With a high percentage of children today overweight or obese, supplying nutritional advice for children, schools and parents is becoming increasingly important, in order to enable the younger generation to grow up healthily in their bodies and minds.
‘Today nearly a third of children aged 2 to 15 are overweight or obese and younger generations are becoming obese at earlier ages and staying obese for longer. Reducing obesity levels will save lives as obesity doubles the risk of dying prematurely. Obese adults are seven times more likely to become a type 2 diabetic than adults of a healthy weight which may cause blindness or limb amputation. And not only are obese people more likely to get physical health conditions like heart disease, they are also more likely to be living with conditions like depression.’

I work with schools and colleges and other training organisations that reach out to individuals. Children and teenagers spend a large proportion of their time in education, therefore it is important that these institutions are responsible for supporting their wellbeing and health.
Services that I offer are:
-
Workshops to help the learners and their families understand how to live healthily, as well as the staff of education institutions.
-
For staff, I offer ‘train the trainer’ days to give them the knowledge to train others on healthy eating.
